Cambridge English Exam Language Assessment:

The Main Suite Exams: KET, KET for Schools, PET, PET for Schools, FCE, FCE for Schools, CAE, CPE. (See the exam dates page for sittings).

The Business Suite Exams: BEC Preliminary, BEC Vantage, BEC Higher. (See the exam dates page for sittings).

Trinity College London English Exams:

These exams are available on demand, but normally booked for visiting groups.

GESE - Trinity's GESE exams test the English speaking and listening skills of people whose first language is not English. They focus on building motivation and confidence in using English and enable students to chart their progress from beginner to proficiency.

ISE - ISE is a four skills qualification intended for young people and adults - typically at school, college or university. It is also suitable for teachers who require a respected English language qualification. 

SEW -The Spoken English for Work (SEW) exam is a unique assessment of spoken English communication in a work context. Through a series of interactive tasks, SEW tests assess a full range of practical speaking and listening skills that are required in the world of work on a day-to-day basis.


LCCI International Qualifications:

EFB (English for Business)
EFB is a written examination and is designed to test communication in business with tasks based on real business activities. This qualification is intended for candidates at all levels, from those with a basic understanding of English in a business context to those who have reached a high standard of productive English usage. There is an optional Oral Test available at all levels, which tests a candidate's speaking and listening skills by discussing a business-related topic.

SEFIC (Spoken English for Industry and Commerce)
SEFIC is designed to meet the spoken language requirements of business people today. These examinations are highly practical, one-to-one interviews that assess a candidate's ability to communicate in either a business or a work environment. The examinations are conducted through a combination of tasks, e.g. general conversation, role-play, listening and reading comprehension.

English for Tourism (EFT)
EFT is an award made up of a written component (Written English for Tourism - WEfT) and an oral component (Spoken English for Tourism - SEfT). The two components can be taken at either Level 1 or Level 2. Although written and oral examinations can be taken separately, candidates are recommended to take both parts where possible.

The Institute of Linguists:

The DipTrans is a postgraduate level qualification offering accreditation of your professional competence. It is accredited by Ofqual at level 7 of the UK National Qualifications Framework and is internationally recognised. The DipTrans is intended for people wishing to pursue a career in professional translation who have a linguistic competence at least equivalent to a good Honours Degree and/or extensive knowledge of the source language gained in a professional context. Successful candidates are entitled to use the designation ‘DipTrans IoLET’ and may be eligible to apply for membership of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL).

The Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) is a qualification for those who work, or would like to work, in one of these areas:

  • Law: courts, solicitors, immigration
  • Healthcare: hospitals, clinics, GP practices
  • Local Government: housing, social work, education
